The Role
What you'll do
- Teach fun, age-appropriate dance classes for children ages 2 to teens
- Create a warm, encouraging, and safe classroom every single week
- Choreograph simple, joyful routines for our year-end recital
- Build confidence, coordination, rhythm, and a love of dance
- Communicate positively and professionally with parents
What We're Looking For

- A background in dance: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, or tumbling (teaching experience ideal)

- Location: Virginia Beach, VA. Our studio at 1630 General Booth Blvd, Suite 106, plus partner preschools
- Schedule: Part-time. Afternoons, evenings, and weekends, with daytime preschool routes available
- Styles: Ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and tumbling
- Start: Ongoing. We hire the right people as classes grow

Bringing the joy of dance to Virginia Beach since 2007
Founded by Ms. Jennifer Pappas, Dance Makers began by bringing ballet, tap, jazz, and tumbling to children in local preschools, and has since grown to a full studio location. Ms. Jennifer has been dancing and teaching for over 40 years, training at academies including Broadway Dance Center and Steps in New York City. Our mission is simple: instill proper technique and fundamentals in a fun, supportive, and non-competitive environment, for our dancers and our teachers alike.

Do I need prior experience to teach at Dance Makers?
Prior teaching experience is ideal, but it isn't required. We're happy to train the right person. If you love working with children and have a background in dance, we want to hear from you.
What ages will I be teaching?
Our dancers range from age 2 through the teen years. You'll teach age-appropriate classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and tumbling, depending on your strengths and our schedule.
Is this a full-time or part-time position?
These are part-time instructor positions. Classes run in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends, with daytime routes available for our preschool programs.
Where are classes held?
At our Virginia Beach studio (1630 General Booth Blvd, Suite 106) and at partner preschools around Virginia Beach for our mobile pre-school program.
